~  Alexander Kanoldt (1881-1939)  ~

Alexander Kanoldt was the son of Edmund Kanoldt, a painter of the Nazarene style. He is mainly known for his many still lifes and landscapes. The still lifes were painted in an austere manner, often featured rubber trees and other thick leaved plants as well as unadorned pots and tins.
