Monograffi Fine Art Galleries ~ Neue Sachlichkeit ~
Within a year of Gustav Hartlaub's Die Neue Sachlichkeit
exhibition a homogenous style emerged
throughout Germany. Even artists who are
normally associated with Verism adopted this new
style which became acceptable to
professional and wealthy patrons. Neue
Sachlichkeit and Magic Realism are seen to
overlap to a certain extent, yet as some
paintings exhibiting improved clarity and
realism some of the "magic" seems to
have been
lost.
